Topic: Twilight TimeZone: Handling Time in Your App Architecture

Detail: Join two experts in their fields of SQL and .NET architecture for an informative and thought-provoking talk about handling timezones in your
application architecture. You might walk away unsettled by your past date/time storage choices, but you'll be more confident than ever that dealing with
Time Zones is disconcerting, rarely straightforward, and often complicated! We'll deep dive into the storage and serialization of date/time information from
the worlds of both SQL Server and web/mobile application development, in a joint presentation by Sparkhound principal consultants William Assaf and Steve Schaneville.

Bios:  William Assaf of Sparkhound

William Assaf, MCSE, is a principal consultant and DBA Manager at Sparkhound in Baton Rouge, LA. He started off as a .NET developer out of college and
moved into database administration and architecture, and has been lead db designer on major application and data warehousing projects for private and
public clients. A SQL Server consultant since 2007, he blogs about SQL at sqltact.com. William is a past president of the Baton Rouge SQL UG and head of the
annual SQLSaturday Baton Rouge Planning Committee.

Bios:  Steve Schaneville of Sparkhound

Steve has 17 years of experience delivering enterprise grade solutions using Microsoft technologies. He served as lead architect at Amedisys for nearly 8 years,
and has recently transitioned into consulting at Sparkhound (and I'm really liking it! :-). In recent years he's become a strong advocate for unit testing and
he *actually believes* that writing unit tests saves time rather than consumes it.

All of our meetings are open to the public, open to students, folks looking to get into the field and those looking to move up! Please spread the word and come prepared to learn and share your knowledge and experience!
